About Me

IMG_2048Hey y’all! My name is Joy Hardin. I am a military wife and stay at home mom of two teenage boys, and the creator of The Joy of Everyday Cooking blog. I love cooking, but more than that, I love eating. I enjoy trying new recipes, but for many years, I would try recipes and be totally disappointed. It was so discouraging to spend time and money shopping, prepping, and cooking a meal that our family didn’t like. It was very frustrating and really caused me to dislike cooking. Over the years, I became better at recognizing good recipes and along the way discovered where to find the best recipes. I typically cook uncomplicated dishes, but also enjoy the challenge of occasionally attempting more difficult recipes. I don’t consider myself a good cook. Instead, I consider myself a good-recipe-finder.

While living in Italy for three years, I attended an Italian cooking school where I gained a real appreciation for cooking with whole, fresh ingredients. Being from Italian descent made the experience even more meaningful. It was wonderful to experience the culture of my ancestors.

It is my hope that the recipes on this website take some of the guesswork out of cooking and bring joy to your everyday cooking experiences.

Better get cookin’,

Joy

A man can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in his work. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?

Ecclesiastes 2:24-25
